The Kennet and Brunel Community Association is in Newtown, east of
Reading, commonly known as Cemetery Junction. The
area comprises of mostly flats. It covers: Orts Road, Patriot Place, Kennetside, Weirside
Court, Gasworks Road, Kenavon Drive, Anglers Way, Betam Road, Canal Way, Arthur Place,
Victoria Square, Florence Walk, Avon Place, Lock Place, Leopold Walk, Cumberland Road,
Kingsgate, Rupert Walk, Rupert Street, Norwood Road, Sun Street, Amity Street, Amity Road,
School Terrace, and St. Stephen’s Court (up to but not including Cholmeley Road).
They have a Youth and Community Centre in Sun Street that runs many
different activities including IT training, baby and toddler group and Wednesday evening
Bingo. There is also the opportunity to take beautiful walks along the river where the
Kennet joins the Thames. This area also has
the Arthur Hill swimming pool and fitness centre.
