ABOUT RFTRA

Get involved in your community to have your say and make a difference.

Reading Federation of Tenants’ and Residents’ Associations (RFTRA) is an umbrella organisation for the Tenants' and Residents' Associations, Community Voices and Sounding Board Members within the Borough of Reading. We give support to associations and provide a voice for Tenants’ and Residents’ Associations on a range of issues.

As full members of RFTRA we regularly meet with senior Council Officers, Local Councillors and a range of other local organisations to put forward the views of local people on issues such as: road safety and traffic problems, crime reduction, waste and recycling management, youth and children’s facilities, housing matters and much more.

The RFTRA Resource Centre is in the town centre, and its members employ an administrator, who works in the office. The Resource Centre has:

  • A library and information point.
  • Access to computers and the Internet.
  • Use of a photocopier and fax machine.
  • Training, support and financial assistance.
  • Help in producing posters, flyers, leaflets and newsletters.
  • Regular mailings to all our members with information that covers current issues relating to where you live.
